Diabefarm MV 30 - a drug for lowering blood sugar

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease in which the blood sugar level rises. The disease progresses due to a decrease in the sensitivity of tissues to the effects of insulin (a hormone secreted by the pancreas).

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is characterized by severe hyperglycemia. In this condition, the level of glucose in the blood rises. That is why the treatment of the disease is reduced to the use of drugs that have a hypoglycemic effect.

Diabefarm MV 30 mg is considered a good drug from this group. The drug is produced by the Russian pharmaceutical company Pharmacor. The price of the drug in pharmacies does not exceed 120-150 rubles. Diabefarm MV is available in pill form. When you buy a medicine you need to present a prescription.

Pharmacological action of the drug

Diabefarm MV is a second-generation sulfonylurea derivative. The active ingredient is gliclazide. This substance is an active insulin stimulator. The use of pills increases insulin production by the pancreas.

Diabefarm MV tablets also increase the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin. Due to these factors, the blood sugar level gradually decreases, and over time it stabilizes at around 5.5 mmol / l.

Diabefarm tablets also help:

  1. Normalize vascular permeability. Due to this, the risk of thrombosis and chronic atherosclerosis during medical treatment is reduced.
  2. Restore the process of physiological fibrinolysis (parietal).
  3. Reduce the risk of an increased reaction to epinephrine in microangiopathies.
  4. Restore early peak insulin secretion.
  5. Reduce blood cholesterol.

It is noteworthy that the use of Diabefarm does not increase body weight. Due to this, the drug can be combined with diet therapy.

Also, a distinctive feature of the drug is that it does not cause hyperinsulinemia.

Instructions for use of the drug

If Diabefarma MV is prescribed, the instructions for use are mandatory for reading. When is it appropriate to use this drug? Description of the drug suggests that it can be used only in type 2 diabetes mellitus (non-insulin-dependent type).

It is advisable to use tablets in case of diabetes mellitus type 2 moderate, which is accompanied by the initial signs of diabetic microangiopathy. The manual also says that Diabefarm can be used as a prophylactic agent for microcirculation disorders.

How to take medicine? The instructions say that the initial daily dose is 80 mg. After 2-3 weeks, the dosage can be increased to 160 mg or 320 mg. The multiplicity of reception of funds - 2 times a day. The duration of drug therapy is determined individually.

Contraindications to the use of funds:

  • Type 1 diabetes mellitus (insulin-dependent).
  • Ketoacidosis
  • Diabetic coma. Also, you can not take medicine in the presence of pre-comatose state.
  • Disorders in the liver, in particular acute or chronic liver failure.
  • Renal dysfunction. Medical reviews indicate that the drug is dangerous in the presence of renal failure.
  • Allergies to make up.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Breastfeeding period.
  • Childhood. Diabefarm is not prescribed to patients under the age of 18 years.
  • Lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption, lactose intolerance.

During treatment therapy, it is recommended to control glucose levels. When using tablets it is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol and drugs, which include ethyl alcohol.

Otherwise, increase the risk of developing a hypoglycemic attack. Diabefarm can be consumed during the period of diet therapy, which provides for reducing the amount of carbohydrates in the diet.

When you use tablets, you may receive the following side effects:

  1. On the part of the gastrointestinal tract: loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhea, epigastric pain. In severe cases, the level of liver enzyme activity increases. There is also a chance of developing hepatitis and jaundice.
  2. On the part of the organs of the hematopoietic system: anemia, granulocytopenia, pancytopenia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia.
  3. Allergic reactions. In case of overdose, there is a likelihood of developing allergic vasculitis.
  4. Decreased visual acuity.
  5. On the part of the cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure, pain in the sternum, bradycardia, arrhythmia.
  6. On the part of the nervous system: decreased concentration, headache, fatigue, irritability, sleep disturbances, excessive sweating.

During treatment therapy, it is not recommended to work with potentially dangerous machinery or drive vehicles, as Diabefarm tablets reduce the reaction rate.

The best analogue of Diabefarma

If Diabefarm is contraindicated, group analogues are used to treat type 2 diabetes. Which drug is the best alternative? According to doctors, instead of Diabefarm it is necessary to use analogues belonging to the 2-generation sulfonylurea group.

One of the most effective drugs in this group is Maninil. The price of this drug is 160-200 rubles. Available medicine in the form of tablets for internal use.

Maninil is advisable to use in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Also, this tool is used in complex therapy with insulin. The active substance of the drug stimulates the secretion of insulin, and increases the sensitivity of tissues to this hormone. It is noteworthy that the hypoglycemic effect lasts for 12 hours after consuming the pills.

Maninil also helps:

  • Lower cholesterol levels.
  • Slow down the process of lipolysis in adipose tissue
  • Reduce blood thrombogenic properties.

How to take medicine? The average daily dosage is 2.5-15 mg. In this case, you need to use the medicine with a frequency of 2-3 times a day. In the treatment of type 2 diabetes in the elderly, the daily dose is reduced to 1 mg.

Contraindications to the use of Manil:

  1. Type 1 diabetes. Also a contraindication is a comatose or pre-comatose condition caused by this disease.
  2. Hepatic and renal failure.
  3. The presence of extensive burns.
  4. Pregnancy.
  5. Lactation period.
  6. Childhood.
  7. Leukopenia
  8. Paresis of the stomach.
  9. Diseases that are accompanied by a violation of the absorption of food.
  10. Adrenal insufficiency.
  11. Thyroid diseases, in particular hypothyroidism and thyrotoxicosis.

When using pills side effects appear only with an overdose. The wrong treatment regimen can lead to the development of disorders in the digestive tract, nervous, hematopoietic and cardiovascular systems.

In the video in this article there are suggested several ways how to manage the treatment of diabetes without pills.

The principle of the drug

The effect of drugs used in diabetes mellitus should be consistent with the pathophysiology of this disease. The first carbohydrate disorders are most often expressed in insulin resistance, so patients are prescribed pills aimed at reducing it. The most effective drug in this regard is metformin (Siofor, Glucophage and analogues). Also for patients characterized by enhanced gluconeogenesis: glucose is produced by the liver in larger quantities than before. Metformin also successfully copes with this violation.

In the second stage of diabetes, the pancreatic functions begin to decline. First, there are changes in the first phase of secretion: the rate of insulin release into the blood decreases after absorption of glucose into it. Gradually, the first phase completely disappears, and during the day the blood sugar stays at a constantly elevated level. At this time, blood sugar can be reduced in two ways: either to minimize the intake of carbohydrates with a strict diet that contains almost no carbohydrates, or to stick to the previous diet and add Diabefarm or its analogues to the treatment regimen.

Diabefarm acts on pancreatic cells, forcing them to produce insulin. It is able to restore the lost first phase, because of which the time between the intake of glucose into the blood and the beginning of the secretion of the hormone decreases, and the glycemia after eating increases less. In addition to the main action, Diabefarm is able to fight insulin resistance, but is less effective than metformin. For better compensation of diabetes, these drugs are prescribed as a pair.

Also, the drug has an additional effect that is not associated with a decrease in sugar, but is very useful for people with diabetes. The drug prevents the formation of blood clots in the vessels, improves the natural processes of their resorption. This effect can slow the development of retinopathy and other vascular complications. In diabetic nephropathy, the use of Diabefarm leads to a decrease in urine protein levels.

Indications for use

Diabepharm is prescribed only to those patients who have saved insulin synthesis, but it is not enough for normal blood sugar. These requirements are met by type 2 diabetics on average 5 years after the onset of the disease. To confirm the lack of hormone can blood tests for C-peptide or insulin.

During treatment with a drug, dietary restrictions are mandatory: table 9 or a more rigid low-carb diet. Sweets should be excluded and carbohydrates from other foods limited: cereals, some vegetables and fruits. Also, patients are shown regular physical activity. If diet, exercise, metformin and diabefarm do not reduce sugar enough at the maximum dosage, diabetics need insulin therapy.

Release form and dosage

In the drug registry, the drug is registered in 2 types: Diabefarm and Diabefarm MV.

The normal form (immediate release) is an obsolete form of release, in pharmacies it is difficult to find it. Distinguish the drug is easy for the dosage of 80 mg.

Diabefarm MV has a dosage of only 30 mg. This medicine is a modified, or prolonged, release. This form allows you to reduce the frequency of admission and dose, to eliminate the irritating effect of the active substance on the gastrointestinal tract, to reduce the risk of side effects. According to the instructions, the concentration of gliclazide remains almost constant throughout the day after taking Diabefarm MV. According to reviews of diabetics, the new drug is much less likely to cause hypoglycemia than its predecessor. Doctors are in solidarity with patients, research has proven the advantage of prolonged gliclazide over normal.

Instructions for use

Drink Diabefarm CF 30 simultaneously with breakfast. With the beginning of the use of the drug is required to streamline their meals according to the recommendations of the doctor: there is often a little, do not skip meals, distribute carbohydrates evenly throughout the day.

How to start treatment:

  1. Regardless of the level of hyperglycemia, diabepharm is started from 1 30 mg tablet. The next 2 weeks to increase the dose is prohibited. This time is necessary in order to fully unfolded the action of Gliclazide, and the body had time to get used to the drug.
  2. If sugar is not normalized, the dose is increased to 60 mg. According to reviews, this dosage is sufficient for most diabetics.
  3. If necessary, it can be gradually increased to 120 mg (4 tablets), but no more.

In the elderly, patients with mild and moderate renal insufficiency Diabefarm compensates for diabetes mellitus as effectively, so they do not need dose adjustment. Increasing the dose of Diabepharm or other glucose-lowering drugs taken with it should be combined with frequent monitoring of blood glucose, since during this period the risk of hypoglycemia is higher. Instructions for use allows the appointment of the drug in conjunction with metformin, acarbose and insulin.

Medication side effects

The biggest danger of taking Diabepharm is hypoglycemia. Most often, it is accompanied by severe symptoms familiar to any patient with diabetes mellitus: trembling, hunger, headache, fatigue, apathy or irritability, dizziness.

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Institute of Diabetology - Tatiana Yakovleva

For many years I have been studying the problem of diabetes. It is terrible when so many people die, and even more become disabled due to diabetes.

I hasten to inform the good news - the Endocrinological Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences managed to develop a medicine that completely cures diabetes mellitus. At the moment, the effectiveness of this drug is close to 98%.

Another good news: the Ministry of Health has achieved the adoption of a special program, which compensates for the high cost of the drug. In Russia, diabetics until May 18 (inclusive) can get it - Only for 147 rubles!

The cause of hypoglycemia can be:

  1. An overdose of the drug or its joint administration with drugs of a similar action: sulfonylurea, DPP-4 inhibitors, GLP-1 analogues.
  2. Errors in nutrition: skipping meals or dramatically reducing the amount of carbohydrates without simultaneously reducing the dosage of Diabefarm.
  3. Reception with other drugs that enhance the action of gliclazide: antihypertensive, antifungal, anti-tuberculosis, hormonal, anti-inflammatory.

Like any other medicine, Diabefarm can trigger digestive disorders. Nausea, diarrhea, feeling of heaviness in the stomach can be avoided if you drink the drug with food, as advised by the instructions. There is also a small risk of allergies, usually rash and itching. If an allergy occurs to Diabefarm, then the likelihood of a similar reaction to all drugs in this group is high.

When taken simultaneously with alcohol, a disulfiram-like reaction is possible. This is the accumulation in the body of the decay products of ethanol, which manifests itself in the form of vomiting, breathing problems, increased heart rate, pressure drop. The more alcohol was drunk, the more severe the symptoms. Such a reaction may develop at any time. If one day the combination of alcohol with Diabefarm did not bring harm, it does not mean that the next time there will be no problems.

Who is contraindicated for diabefarm

  • hypersensitivity to gliclazide or group analogs,
  • impaired renal or severe liver function,
  • intestinal insufficiency,
  • the period of treatment of acute complications of diabetes, extensive injuries, burns and other life-threatening conditions,
  • leukopenia,
  • pregnancy, GW,
  • patients under 18 years old.

Pharmachologic effect

It is a derivative of the second generation sulfonylurea. This means that in addition to reducing sugar, which is achieved by increasing insulin secretion by beta cells in the pancreas, it helps to increase the sensitivity of tissues to insulin. Some intracellular enzymes are also stimulated. The time from the moment of eating to the beginning of insulin production decreases. The drug helps to restore the early peak of secretion of the hormone and to balance the action after a meal. It also normalizes the state of the vessels, increasing their permeability.

Absorption is made from the gastrointestinal tract. Maximum concentration - after 4 hours. Metabolization occurs in the liver, eight metabolites are formed. The half-life is about 12 hours. Excreted by the kidneys in the form of metabolites and unchanged.

Type 2 diabetes in adults.

Also used for the prevention of complications associated with blood vessels.

  • Type 1 diabetes,
  • Hypoglycemia,
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis,
  • Lactose intolerance,
  • Increased sensitivity to components
  • Hepatic and renal failure and other violations of their work,
  • History of coma
  • Acceptance of some drugs.

Hypoglycemia may develop. Its symptoms are: weakness, paleness of the skin, feeling of hunger, nausea, vomiting, impairment of consciousness up to coma. Light form is removed by eating sweet food. Moderate and severe - injection of glucagon or dextrose solution. After a person has come to his senses, he should be fed food enriched with carbohydrates. In the future, be sure to consult a doctor for adjustment of the dosage of the medicine.

Special instructions

During the entire course of treatment, it is important to take tests regularly and monitor the condition of the kidneys, liver and the whole organism. If any pronounced reactions appear, consult a specialist. The patient must know the symptoms of hypoglycemia and be able to provide first aid.

The following factors can lead to hypoglycemia:

  • starvation,
  • stresses
  • change of time zones,
  • heavy exercise
  • some diseases
  • ethanol intake, etc.

You can use the tablets only with a low-calorie diet.

During surgical interventions, some diseases of a chronic and infectious nature, pregnancy, it is advisable to transfer the patient to insulin.

Should not be used with "Zimetidinom". With "verapamil" and "acarbose" need careful monitoring of the condition.

It is released only by prescription!

Use in children and old age

It is undesirable to use for the treatment of patients under 18 years of age due to the lack of information about the body's response to sulfonylurea.

There is no indication of the ban on the reception of older people. However, they should be tested more often and carefully monitor the state of their body and blood sugar levels. If a person has abnormalities in the work of the kidneys and liver, then “Diabefarm” is not prescribed.

Comparison with analogues

Diabefarm has a number of analogues both in composition and in properties. It will be useful to consider them for comparison.

"Diabeton MW". The drug is based on gliclazide. Manufacturing company - "Servier", France. Price - about 300 rubles per pack. Standard contraindications and list of side effects. Not recommended for older people.

"Diabetalong". Price - 120 rubles. Firm - "Sintez Acomp", Russia. It is also a derivative of sulfonylurea. The main component is gliclazide. It has a prolonged effect.

"Glidiab". Similar active ingredient. It is produced by the Russian company Akrikhin. Price - from 140 rubles (60 tablets). The drug is available for benefits. Forbidden to children, with caution - the elderly.

Gliclazide. Tablets on the basis of gliclazide. They produce two companies in Russia - "Ozone" and "Pharmstandard". The cost is about 130 rubles (30 pieces). Similar effective properties, similar effect on duration and on the mechanism. It happens as a normal action, and prolonged (taking once a day). It is impossible for children and pregnant women, the elderly - with caution.

Maninil. Glibenclamide based medicine. Produces "Berlin Chemie", Germany. Price - 120 rubles per pack of 120 tablets. The cheapest equivalent. However, not all patients are suitable. The standard list of prohibitions on admission: pregnant and lactating women, children.

"Glurenorm". Cost - from 450 rubles. Produced by the Greek company "Beringer Ingelheim Hellas." The main substance is glycvidone, a sulfonylurea derivative. Tablets have a short effect. Many contraindications.

Switching to another drug is carried out only by a specialist. Self-treatment is prohibited!

In general, the experience of diabetics with the experience of the drug is positive. There is a stable effect, a quick onset of action. Little information about adverse events. Often used in combination with metformin. For some people, the drug is not suitable.

Oleg: “I used to buy Diabeton.” Then he ended up at the pharmacy, and they advised me to try Diabefarm. The doctor confirmed that they are similar in properties. It turned out the drug is even more effective! Sugar quickly leveled off, I feel great, nothing worries. Recommend".

Evgenia: “I have been treated by Dubefarm for several months now. At first there were some side effects, mostly with the stomach. Straightened the dosage and diet, health immediately improved. According to the properties it is a very effective tool. I like the fact that it quickly starts working. ”

Irina: “I used to sit on metformin, but then some allergic problems started. The doctor prescribed Diabefarm. At first, it frightened me that it was a Russian medicine - I was not used to trusting a domestic manufacturer. But still risked. I experienced nothing, the effect of the pills is no worse than from foreign ones. So now I am treating them. What is convenient - if the pharmacy ends this form, then you can take the same "Diabeton" or another generic. According to the properties they are exactly the same. "

Valeriy: “I was prescribed Diabefarm. At first he was treated, everything was fine. He began once again to donate blood - hemoglobin fell. The doctor immediately transferred to another drug. It turns out that there are such side effects. It's hard to live with diabetes. ”

Denis: “I switched from more expensive drugs to the Russian equivalent with gliclazide in composition. What can I say: an effective tool, inexpensive, affordable. No adverse reactions noted. On the contrary, it became more active. Convenient to use with other hypoglycemic. "

Release form and composition

Diabefarma MV Dosage Forms:

  • modified release tablets: flat-cylindrical, white with a grayish-yellowish tinge, with a facet and a cross-shaped risk (in a carton box one bottle of 60 tablets or 3 or 6 blister packs of 10 tablets),
  • sustained release tablets: oval biconvex shape, almost white or white with a grayish-yellowish tinge, on both sides with risks (in blister packs: in a cardboard box 5 packs of 6, or 3, 6, 9 packs of 10 pcs., or 5, 10 packs of 12 pcs., or 2, 4, 6, 8 packs of 15 pcs.).

Each pack also contains instructions for using Diabefarm MV.

Ingredients 1 tablet:

  • active ingredient: gliclazide - 30 or 60 mg,
  • Auxiliary components: magnesium stearate, hypromellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose.

Gliclazide, the active substance in Diabefarm MV, is among the oral hypoglycemic drugs derived from II generation sulfonylureas.

The main effects of gliclazide:

  • stimulation of insulin secretion by pancreatic β-cells,
  • increased insulin secretion effects of glucose,
  • increased sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin,
  • stimulation of the activity of intracellular enzymes - muscle glycogen synthetase,
  • reduction of the interval from the time of ingestion to the beginning of insulin secretion,
  • restoration of the early peak of insulin secretion (this is the difference between gliclazide and other sulfonylurea derivatives, which have an effect mainly during the second stage of secretion),
  • decrease in postprandial glucose increase.

In addition to its effect on carbohydrate metabolism, gliclazide helps to improve microcirculation: it reduces platelet aggregation and adhesion, prevents atherosclerosis and microthrombosis, normalizes vascular permeability, restores physiological parietal fibrinolysis.

The effect of the substance is also aimed at reducing the sensitivity of vascular receptors to adrenaline and slowing the onset of diabetic retinopathy in the non-proliferative stage.

On the background of long-term use of Diabefarm MV in patients with diabetic nephropathy, a significant decrease in the severity of proteinuria occurs. It has an effect mainly on the early peak of insulin secretion; therefore, it does not lead to an increase in body weight and does not cause hyperinsulinemia, and if an appropriate diet is observed in obese patients, it contributes to weight loss.

Diabefarm MB, instructions for use: method and dosage

Diabefarm MV is taken orally, in the morning during breakfast, 1 time per day. It is recommended to swallow a tablet or half a tablet (if necessary, dividing the tablet with a dosage of 60 mg), without crushing or chewing.

The dose is chosen individually, it depends on the clinical manifestations of the disease, as well as fasting glucose and 2 hours after a meal.

The recommended initial daily dose (including for elderly patients) is 30 mg, and if necessary, the dose can be further increased with an interval of at least 14 days. The maximum dose is 120 mg per day.

Patients taking Diabefarm may replace it with MV Diabefarm.

The drug can be used in combination with other hypoglycemic agents: insulin, biguanides, or α-glucosidase inhibitors.

Side effects

The use of Diabepharm MV on the background of inadequate diet or in violation of the dosing regimen can lead to the development of hypoglycemia. This disorder is manifested by headache, fatigue, aggressiveness, severe weakness, hunger, sweating, anxiety, inattention, irritability, inability to concentrate, slow reaction, depression, visual impairment, aphasia, tremor, helplessness, sensory disorders, loss of self-control, dizziness , delirium, hypersomnia, convulsions, loss of consciousness, bradycardia, shallow breathing.

Other possible adverse effects:

  • digestive organs: dyspepsia (manifested as nausea, diarrhea, epigastric heaviness), anorexia (the severity of this disorder is reduced when taking the drug while eating), impaired hepatic function (increased activity of hepatic transaminases, cholestatic jaundice),
  • hematopoiesis: thrombocytopenia, anemia, leukopenia,
  • allergic reactions: maculopapular rash, urticaria, itching.
